Rovers were beaten by The Dropouts 2 - 1 after what was a very disapointing display. Injured Gaffer Frankie Bircham watched from the sidelines and shared his views and comments soon after,
" We started positive in the first 5 minutes of the game and a win looked a cert as The Dropouts didnt seem much of a threat. We still seemed to make life hard in front of goal and failed once again to take early chances.
All of a sudden the shape and movement seemed to fall apart and the dropouts were gifted with an early goal with 3 attackers on our 1 defender. We didnt learn from this and the dropouts were getting more space and more oppertunities in front of goal. Danny Casey scored his first of the season which bought the scores level, which it remained at half time.
The second half we didnt come out, we were quite, we were slow and it seemed like we didnt want it tonight. We were S**T up front, no other way to put it. We need to take chances. Every time the dopouts broke we were caught out, they always had the numbers on our defenders, 4 on 2 or 3 on 1. We didnt drop back tonight.
There second and winning goal was down to a number of errors, possibly a miss timed attempt by Andrew Jackson in goal. I think that Andrew still deserved Man Of The Match, he kept the game alive for us with some fantastic saves.
Overall we were not good enough, Peter Bircham tried but didnt have the support, Danny gave it his all when on, Gary looked tired to quick and Mark and Dean didnt perform up front tonight and lacked supporting on the breaks. We need a better performance next week."
